Aicent WiFi Roaming eXchange Service
Aicent is one of the few companies in the world today that has deployed a highly secured, high quality and resilient private IP network dedicated for global wireless roaming and interworking. The Aicent WiFi Roaming platform resides within this high quality network and inherits the required operator connectivity, security, service quality, and value added features from other roaming and interworking services. The Aicent WiFi Roaming platform is wholly owned and operated by Aicent and has been developed entirely by Aicent's own engineering resources. Aicent has leveraged its long history of providing RADIUS AAA and wireless roaming exchange services, while strictly following industry standards and requirements, to develop the Aicent WiFi Roaming platform. Because Aicent developed and owns the WiFi Roaming platform, Aicent can offer greater flexibility in accommodating our customers' diverse and special needs.
The Aicent WiFi Roaming is offered with full commitment to customer satisfaction. Throughout the years, Aicent has established a world-class industry reputation of being innovative, customer-focused, and flexible in addressing operator's needs. Aicent's local and regional 24x7 NOC network operation and customer support ensures service quality and timely troubleshooting. In addition, Aicent provides international and domestic roaming facilitation, testing coordination, roaming brokerage, technical training, design and implementation consultation, and other optional services that greatly reduce the required operator resource investments, lower business barriers, and speed up the time-to-market for operator services.
Below are key advantages Aicent WiFi Roaming offers to customers:
- Aicent owns and operates the entire infrastructure required for WiFi Roaming that fully integrates the interconnection, clearing, and financial settlement interfaces, deployed in all major continents - Asia Pacific, Europe, and the Americas. This complete infrastructure not only allows Aicent to provide the highest service quality, but also to pass cost savings to customers.
- Aicent has world-class RADIUS expertise. Aicent has successfully deployed and operated RADIUS AAA systems in its CDMA Roaming eXchange (CRX) service, global ISP roaming service, WLAN roaming services and GSMA Seamless Access Deployment Campaigns (SA-DC).
- Through these services, Aicent has built a lasting relationship with operators and has earned a reputation of high service quality, reliable customer support, and easiness to work with. Aicent strives to maintain its reputation and commitment to provide the best WiFi Roaming service to WiFi operators.
Expertise in RADIUS AAA Services
Aicent founders are the founding team members of GoRemote Internet Communications (formerly GRIC Communications] (NASDAQ: GRIC), a world-leading ISP roaming service provider. Aicent's engineering and management team members were the core contributors of GoRemote RADIUS platform development, global network deployment, and data clearing service operations, directly contributing to the establishment of RADIUS standards in the 1990s. Currently, Aicent operates its own commercial RADIUS AAA platform to serve nearly 200 enterprises in North America and other regions with remote access and Wi-Fi roaming services. Aicent RADIUS AAA system is interoperable with worldwide RADIUS systems.
With this world-class technical capability, Aicent pioneered CDMA Roaming eXchange (CRX) in the CDMA industry, duplicating the data roaming success achieved with GSM operators. The CRX service is enabled by RADIUS AAA that directly connects to each operator's AAA systems, on top of a global private IP backbone network like GRX, completes with data clearing, financial settlement service components similar to the WiFi Roaming. Aicent was first to propose to this technical solution to the industry the technical solution, was also involved in drafting key industry standards, and was the first to deploy commercial systems and sign up customers in early 2005. Today, CRX is embraced by the industry as the standard data roaming implementation method. Aicent is one of the few leading CRX providers, and the only one that has completed peering with all other CRX vendors.
In 2006, Aicent was invited by GSMA to participate in the Seamless Access Deployment Campaign (SADC) project that aims at enabling WLAN roaming with SIM based authentication. The project is part of the larger IP Packet eXchange (IPX) field trials led by GSMA to test full mobile data hub exchange services. Aicent was fully prepared for such industry requirement and immediately integrated its RADIUS AAA platform connection through its GRX network to connect participating operators and support this campaign. Several mobile operators quickly selected Aicent as their IPX/WRP (Wireless Roaming Provider), as so named. During the trial, Aicent has also peered with other WRPs, such as TeliaSonera and MACH, to ensure transparent interoperability and roaming exchange among all operators.
